Hello everyone, it's Brad. I know it's been a long time since you've received an update. I wanted you all to know that I'm doing very good. I had a check up 3 weeks ago and everything is looking good. My tumors have shrunk and my blood markers look good. My doctor is a little concerned about my lung capacity being low but I am working on increasing it slowly. I also have numbness in my toes and finger tips that can be quite aggravating, but my doctor said with time it "should" come back. I will have another check up in December and every three months for the next couple of years. I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful doctor and can't say enough good things about the entire staff at Tulane Cancer Center.
I've been asked to be part of a I'm too young for this bootcamp, see the link below. I'm very excited and hopefull that something in my story will help someone else with the struggles that cancer can bring to themselves or their family.
http://bootcamp.stupidcancer.com/2011/nola/
I want to thank everyone for your continued prayers. It is amazing what the power of prayer can do. I will try to update my progress more often. Until then, take care.
Love,
Brad

Memorial Day Weekend
So it's been awhile ~ sorry!!
A quick update - Brad went to the Dr. and he received the results of his CT Scan. The Dr. said although the tumors have shrunk more than half their size, he would still like them to shrink some more before discussing the next steps. What does that mean??? The Chemo will be in Brad's system for another 2 months so he is hopeful that the tumors will shrink a little more. So right now it's another waiting game. He'll have his scan in July.
He also asked if he could return to work. Brad is tired of staying home!! The Dr. said not now ~ Brad's still a little weak and like I mentioned the Chemo will continue to work for another 2 months. He's tried eating a few more things and he quickly found out they don't agree with him. His skin is still very sensitive and he still gets real tired.
We have still been getting lots of meals delivered. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to all of you ladies who deliver meals. It's a tremendous help when I have to run the kids to activities in the evenings. Y'all are amazing.
This past weekend was our Niece Kristyn's wedding. Brad looked fantastic in his Tux. 30 lbs lost looks great him, even under the crappy circumstances he had to lose it. He had a great time and it was good seeing him enjoy himself.
Thank you to the Messina / Sclafini family for the wonderful Memorial Day BBQ dinner! It was fantastic! So yummy!! I wish I was there when y'all came by ~ I would have loved to see you.

get well soon
It's hard to believe it's already Thursday!!
Brad is still feeling about the same as I last wrote. He's been achy, tired, bored and miserable. He said he really doesn't have much energy to do anything!! He went for his treatment on Tuesday and he's down more than 30 lbs.!
Dinner last night was AMAZING! Stephanie Musso you did a fantastic job!! Brad Loved it and even had seconds ~ which is a lot for him right now!! :)
Shrimp Stuffed Peppers, Sausage Onion Rive, Cesar Salad, Green Beans, Garlic Bread and Lemon Squares!! DELICIOUS!! Thank You!
"Bryanna said she wants the recipe for the Cesar Salad!!" lol
I feel like the Blog is all about Food lately ~ sorry!! However, this is the highlight of Brad's day! He's home by himself most of the day and just getting to see new faces gives him something to look forward to.
Hopefully he will start to feel better soon. Last night he had some cramping in his side and couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep. I'm sure he's going to do a lot of napping today.

this week is almost done!
Yesterday I was Brads Chemo Buddy :) He did pretty good ~ he's been feeling good only complaining of being tired ~ as usual! Treatment went quick and then we met with the Doctor afterwards. He said so far everything is looking okay but he won't have a good assessment until he does Brads next CT Scan (May 20th) He also talked about the different scenarios that could happen depending on what the scan says ~ but we'll talk about that after the scan.
Last night dinner was from Lisa Eckert!
Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Potato Salad and Banana Pudding. AWESOME!!!
Lisa ~ Bryanna ate 2 bowls and for her that is amazing!!
We were ALL excited that Aunt Dena was going to be his Chemo Buddy today!!!
She came with Burger King ~ Croissant sandwiches & Hash Browns!!! We LOVE you Aunt Dena!!
Brad Jr. said this is his favorite breakfast!!! Bryanna said you're like State Farm?? "Like a good Auntie, Dena is there!!" - She watches too many commercials!!

Good ~ Bad
Good ~ Brad started his third round of Chemo yesterday.
Bad ~ Mary Alice wasn't there and his day wasn't as good as usual
Good ~ His white blood count is up!! Not just a little but a lot!
Bad ~ Because it's up ~ he didn't get a private room yesterday!
Good ~ His brother Eddie is his Chemo Buddy today!! Yay
Bad ~ he wasn't in a great mood yesterday, a little down!
(hopefully Eddie will take care of that today)
Last night dinner was from Dawn Zahn!!
Chicken & Shrimp Jambalaya, Crescent Rolls, and Sugar Cookies the kids were able to decorate!!
Dawn ~ it was so yummy!!! Thank you!!!
I'm so exhausted trying to keep up with everything that sometimes I forget to write. Making sure Brad has his medicine, the kids have everything ready for school, getting Bryanna to and from dancing and still trying to have time to entertain the kids is a lot of work!! Thank goodness that our kids are very well behaved and are very easy going!!
Here is a picture from Sunday ~ we took them to Nanna & Kappy's house for some swimming.
Hopefully daddy will be able to join them in the pool soon!!

Itchy
Today wasn't so bad. Brad woke up with a weird rash and itching everywhere. It's like his body knew he was going for treatment today. Treatment went well, they gave him some cortisone and benadryl because he's had reactions to the "Bleo" treatment in the past, which also helped out with the rash. So needless to say he is extremely tired tonight. He's had another dose of benadryl tonight because of the rash.
Ashlie Clouatre brought dinner tonight.
Rotisserie Chicken, Mac-N-Cheese, Cesar Salad, Mashed Potato's & BBQ Ribs!! Delicious!!
Thanks Ash for everything ~ especially for spending the day with the kids!! They had a blast!
*Notice there is no picture of the ribs!! Brad Jr. said Ashlie brought the ribs just for him and he ate them ALL by himself ~ wouldn't even let me take a picture!!! lol :)
Lets hope this crazy rash / itching goes away for tomorrow!!

Feeling Good
Still feeling good ~ but gearing up for tomorrow!! Tomorrow is a "Bleo" day, which stinks because Brad has been feeling so good the past few days!! Hopefully it won't be so bad.
He's lost 25lbs since the start of his first treatment. His appetite has picked up a little but still isn't eating like he was used to. Poor guy looks forward to dinner all day. On the days that food is delivered he calls me around 9:30 to find out what's for dinner that evening. Like a kid waiting for the Easter bunny ~ lol :)
Tonight dinner was from Jeanne & Allyson Rodriguez! It was FANTASTIC!! We all LOVED it!!
Baked Ziti, Garlic Bread, Cesar Salad & Cheesecake! YUM YUM YUM!! Thanks!!!
Brad goes to bed real early, around 8:30 ~ he's so tired all the time. By the time I go to bed after giving him his medicine at 11:30 he is already tossing and turning ~ barely sleeping much after that.
The kids are off of school all week for Easter/Spring break and stayed home with daddy today. They were so excited that they woke up at 6:30 a.m. to start watching cartoons!! I'm not sure what they did all day ~ they were still in their pajamas when I got home from work and the house was a wreck ~ but I'm sure Brad enjoyed not being alone today!!

Happy Easter to all!!!
Brad is continuing to feel good. :) Although he still isn't sleeping at night!
Today was nice and relaxing. Brad didn't want to stay home! He wanted to get out, so we visited our parents and watched the kids swim ~ just what he needed. Watching the kids always puts a smile on his face!!
Keep the good days coming!!!

Good Friday!
Today was a nice relaxing day. Brad is still feeling good, very few complaints. A little tired, but was able to nap today!! Still having trouble sleeping at night, lots of tossing and turning.
He was disappointed that he wasn't able to eat crawfish today. His list of things to eat once Chemo is over is growing!!! However he was very pleased with our dinner drop off!!
Thanks Barbara D'Aunoy!! It was Awesome!!!!
Shrimp Fettuccine, Corn Casserole, Dinner Rolls, Cupcakes & Flowers!!
LOVED it all!! I want the recipe for the corn casserole!!
I'm glad Brad is having a few good days!! Hopefully it will continue through Easter! The kids are looking forward to dying eggs with daddy tomorrow!!

It's only Monday!
Brad didn't feel so well today! He was hot, clammy, nauseous, gaggy, tired and achy! Not such a good day. :(
Hopefully he feels a little better tomorrow and I have something better to write about. For now this is it. We're all pretty exhausted!
Thanks Gina for dinner!!! It was fabulous and greatly appreciated!

Just a quick note...
Brad is doing pretty much the same, real tired!! He went today for his shot to boost his white blood count and his been resting since we've come home. The nurse said the shot would make him feel pretty much like he has the flu, for 24-72 hours. He hasn't had much of an appetite today or yesterday. Other than that no new news to report!!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

Wiped out Wednesday
It's only Wednesday!! This week feels so long.
Today's treatment was just as long if not longer than yesterday. Brad's nurse had to slow down the rate the treatment was going in because he had some chest pain. Once it was slowed down the pain went away. I do have to say, MaryAlice is on top of everything. The minute Brad feels any discomfort she immediately addresses it to make the process easier for him.
His biggest complaint is exhaustion. He said this round is just wiping him out!! He's having trouble keeping his eyes open at times, and is having trouble sleeping at night again. Hopefully tonight will be better!
After his treatment we met with his Oncologist. We discussed Brads white blood cell count being low. He told us that Brad needs to be extra careful and limit his contact with people as much as possible to reduce the chance of infection. He also needs to go in this Saturday for a shot to try to boost his white blood cells. We talked about a few other things that were pretty routine but didn't stay long because he could tell Brad was ready to get home. Anytime we meet with his doctor or any of the Tulane Staff I am immediately comforted. They make sure you leave there feeling great and if not, they give you the entire Staff's cell phone numbers that you can call anytime!!!
Tonight's dinner was delivered by Colleen Dudoussat - Thanks Colleen dinner was PERFECT!! Thanks to your kids also for carrying all of the food!!! Sorry I stopped you at the door.

Another day down
Brad woke up this morning very tired. We knew today was going to be a long day, because Brad gets extra on Tuesdays, so I did my best to make the time fly!! I'm not sure I was as good as Amanda yesterday but Brad said I did OK!! lol
Toward the end of treatment Brad had a little reaction. His left eye started to swell and his skin was very blotchy. MaryAlice took care of it right away ~ gave him a shot to reverse the reaction. Needless to say ~ he couldn't wait to get home and rest!
His mom made him dinner tonight. Chicken Noodle Soup and Chicken Salad, comfort food that did its job!!
Thanks NaNa!
He headed to bed early again tonight, couldn't even keep his eyes open anymore ~ no exaggeration!!
Tomorrow he meets with his oncologist ~ just for a follow up ~ but I have plenty of questions :)
I wanted to share a link to a song a friend sent me. Everyday people ask how I'm feeling or how I'm coping with everything. Sometimes I just don't have the words, but after listening to this song I felt as if it was written for me. It's a beautiful song and I just wanted to share!! Thanks Dannie :)

The anticipation is over!! Brad started his second round today ~ he said the time flew by!!! Yay!!! Thanks to my sister, Amanda, for being a great Chemo buddy today!!! Brad said you really distracted him and he enjoyed the conversation. Way to go Sis!! I Love You.
When I got home, I immediately saw how exhausted he looked. His stomach hurts, his eyes burn and his color is very pale. :(
Dinner tonight was delivered by a very dear friend, Amy Castillo. Thank you Amy, it was FABulous!! Brad ate 2 Plates!!!
Red Beans w/ Brown Rice, Corn Bread Muffins and Funfetti Cake!! Also a beautiful Get Well Picture colored by her son Xander!!!
Xander, you did an awesome job. Mr. Brad loved it and hung it right on the fridge!!!
After dinner Brad watched the Hornets game, struggling to stay awake, and now he's turned in for the night!!
until tomorrow...
P.S ~ I'm his buddy tomorrow, hopefully I can come up with some interesting things to talk about!!! lol

The weekend has come and gone! All Brad has done this weekend was SLEEP!! No kidding I think he was out of bed for a total of 4 hours on Saturday!!
Today he rested and watched tv!! He barely left the couch. He was very quiet and seemed content just lounging around.
Tomorrow is the start of round 2 and he has to wake up early, so I'm keeping it short and sweet. :)

Feeling the Love!
Today was very eventful. We started the morning by going for some tests for Brad. He had blood markers done and also another Pulmonary Function Test, to measure his lung capacity. We're confident that everything will be alright for him to start his second round of Chemo on Monday.
This evening was the Divine Mercy/SEAS parish Fish Fry benefit for Brad. He wanted to come very badly, however at the advice of his doctor, he really couldn't. We need to limit the amount of people that Brad comes in contact with to minimize any chance of infections. We did come through the drive through line and park for awhile. It was AMAZING to see all of the people there to show their support for Brad and our family. It was just what Brad needed to lift his spirits and give him extra motivation for Monday.
Thank you to everyone who was there to help work, who came to eat, who participated in the auction and all the kids that were there to jump in the bounces!! Everyone looked like they were having a great time. We can't say enough THANK YOUS to the Men's Club, and our family and friends for all of the hard work!!! We are eternally grateful!!
Brads nurse MaryAlice was also there tonight to show her support for Brad! Isn't that wonderful!!!
Tonight we had a food delivery from Ashlie Clouatre!! Anyone want to guess what she brought over???
Fish, Corn, Potatoes and Fries!!! Also some yummy cupcakes, cookies and brownies!!
Thanks Ash!!! We love you!!!
*** To our family, friends (both old and new), co-workers, neighbors, and everyone who attended the Fish Fry, THANK YOU ~ for your support, love and encouragement!! THANK YOU for putting a SMILE on Brad's face!!! We Love You!!

secret message...
I was laying in bed trying to sleep around midnight when I heard footsteps coming my way. I knew immediately it had to be Brad Jr. - he has a habit of sleepwalking.
He stopped in the hallway and screamed; "MOM!!" I got out of bed and walked toward him and he said "Everything is going to be OK" then he walked back to his room. I went in there to tuck him back in and I could tell that he was still sleeping. I asked him "what did you say, Brad?" He then said "the floor isn't falling from under you." That was it, he turned over and never said another word.
I asked him this morning, if he remembered any of it and he said no, but are you worried about things falling apart, maybe it's a message from God.
Hmmmmm........

Trapped!
So Brad went for his treatment yesterday. All went well. He's feeling good, but back to the tiredness that he's had with the previous treatments. He's also loosing a bit more body hair (eyebrows and eyelashes).
He's finding very creative ways to occupy his time during the day. He's been painting, which helps pass the time while I'm at work.
Today Yvonne Sandoval dropped off dinner!! (Picture above) Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Corn on the Cob, Cupcakes and Iced Tea!! Thanks Yvonne, I don't know how you had time to cook and be so involved in the school play, but it was greatly appreciated and very delicious!
Tonight the kids and I went to the school play. Trapped! The SEAS Drama department did a fantastic job! I really enjoyed the play and the kids enjoyed getting out of the house for the evening!!
I titled the post Trapped after the school play. It was about two kids who find a trunk in the attic of their new home. Inside the trunk are articles of clothing that when the kids put it take them to different periods of time. If it could only be that easy in real life. I wish that I could put on an article of clothing and magically be sent to another destination, even if it were just for a day!! A destination where everyone is healthy and happy and where cancer doesnt' exist. :)

something different...
Today was much like yesterday. Brad pretty much did his own thing and was content doing so. He did a painting project which seemed to occupy most of his day!
When I got home Dinner was here!! Brad gets so excited when it's dinner time. He loves the variety and looks forward to the meals that are delivered!!
Tonight's meal was from Jeanne Rodriguez.
Brad took the picture so it's a weird angle!!
Chicken w/ Brown Gravy, Italian Salad, Texas Toast and Brownie/Cookie Bars! Jeanne it was delicious! We really enjoyed it!!
After dinner Brad told me he noticed something different today! He said while working on his painting he noticed stray eyebrows or eyelashes on his face, so he started checking other areas. Since he doesn't have much hair on his head, he checked his under arms!! I know - gross!! The hair was coming out!! The doctor said he would start to lose hair in the third week and they were spot on!!
He goes for another treatment tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well and we continue to have good days ahead.

Watered Down Weekend!
The weekend wasn't to bad! We didn't do much. We watched a few movies, watched the kids play outside and ate alot! Brad didn't want to go anywhere. I thought he would want to go to the park or visit some family, but he just wanted to stay home. :( One thing he did do was tinker around the house. He watered the lawn 3 times Saturday and 2 times today. Not sure why, but I guess if that's what he wants to do then ok! He also did a few things in the backyard and fixed a few things around the house that he's been putting off. He seemed content just doing his own thing.
He seems to be feeling well physically, which is good!
Tonight we had the perfect ending to a relaxing weekend. My Mom and Dad made us the best dinner.
Pork Chops, Onion Rice (my favorite) and cooked green beans!! YUM!! Thanks guys!!
Mom also made dessert - bananna pudding!!
Now it's time to snuggle with the kids and get them ready for bed!!
**Bryanna is watching me write tonight and wants to tell everyone HELLO!!**

Happy Friday!
Brad felt good today. He wasn't tired, no stomach pain and the only complaint was being bored!! He's glad it's Friday and excited that he won't be home alone tomorrow!! He did have a couple of visitors today and even some tonight. (Thanks Rachel for making us laugh so hard!!) He also took on a few projects today ~ like painting an old Bubble Gum machine we've been having for the kids! Not sure what made him decide to repaint it but i'm glad he's being creative.
He was very excited about dinner tonight! Another mealbaby.com meal. Today's lenten dinner was prepared from Linda & Craig Guercio.
Crawfish Etouffee, Caesar Salad w/ Boiled Shrimp, Green Peas, Italian French Bread & Brownies! One word ~ AMAZING! Thanks guys for EVERYTHING!
We wanted to say thank you to everyone for all prayers and support you continue to give everyday. It is not unnoticed and is greatly appreciated! :)
Tonight we relaxed and had family movie night. "Tangled" It was a perfect ending to a long work week!!

So-So!
Well today wasn't as good as yesterday, but it wasn't too bad. He was tired more today than yesterday and napped off and on. He also complained with his stomach hurting again. I guess he'll have good days and in between days.
I'm gonna keep it short tonight, because I'm exhausted myself. Glad tomorrow is Friday, looking forward to spending lots of family time together this weekend!

Worthwhile Wednesday
Another good day!! The only complaint today is being tired!
I got home a little later than usual, (maybe 10 minutes) and he was calling to see what was taking me so long. He said he looked forward to us coming home ALL day. He's real bored! Anyone who knows Brad will understand when I say, he's not used to staying home and just relaxing. He always has to be doing something, always keeping busy. Today he did some laundry and even cleaned out Brad Jr.'s dresser!! I'm glad he was able to think of ways to occupy his time. I wonder what he'll do tomorrow.
Today when I came home dinner was here waiting. Thanks again to mealbaby.com!! Gina Sensebe sent over a wonderful meal.
Red Beans w/ Brown Rice, Turkey Sausage, Steamed Asparagus, Biscuts and Brownie Bites
Thanks Gina! The whole family says "it was Awesome".
I'm thankful for the good days he's been having. Hardly anything to complain about. He's even eating a little more. Still not what he's used to, but more than Monday! I do wish he was sleeping better. It seems as if he's still having trouble getting comfortable. Tossing and turning all night!

Not so bad!
Brad went for his "Bleo" treatment today. He said it took a little longer than expected but overall wasn't so bad. They weighed him today and he's lost a total of 15 lbs. in a little over a week. The doctor didn't seem to concerned about the weight loss because Brad is eating, just smaller portions. They also gave him some medicine to help with the stomach issues he's been having lately. Let's hope they work and his appetite starts to picks back up.
After treatment he went to Church with his brother Eddie, then they spent some quality time watching a movie together!! Thanks Eddie ~ Brad enjoyed spending time with you today!
He was in a great mood when I came home. He even warmed up dinner, that was sent over from some friends. I couldn't get a picture of this one because they started eating before I was ready! Thanks Gina Sensebe for the wonderful roast! It was delicious!!
Let's hope for another day like today, tomorrow!!

Monday Blues
Today started much like yesterday. Brad woke up not feeling well. He was weak, felt like throwing up and was real sweaty. He seemed a little better as the day went on, just real bored. He watched a few movies, sat on the porch for awhile, then waited for me to come home from work and the kids from school.
When I came home he talked about all of the things he wishes he could eat He wants to make Jalapeno poppers, he wants a hot dog from sonic, the buffet from CiCi's pizza - he must have watched a lot of commercials today! lol
Today was our first meal from mealbaby.com - meals delivered from friends. It was amazing, 5:30 our meal arrived all prepared and Brad was so excited. He really enjoied it!!! Thanks Stephanie Robbins for preparing such a great dinner - the entire family loved it!
Shrimp Scampi, Steamed Green Beans, Dinner Rolls and Yellow Cake - Yummy!!
Tomorrow he goes for his "Bleo" treatment ~ I'll let ya'll know how it goes!!
Going to relax with Brad and watch Dancing with the Stars!!

Weekend Wrap Up!
Well this weekend was filled with emotions, both good and bad. As a whole Brad did fine. Saturday started out good he slept late and felt fine when he woke up. However, as the day went on his feelings quickly changed. His stomach hurt and a little nausea set in, he couldn't get comfortable and he didn't want to eat, when he did eat his stomach hurt more. Today was pretty much the same way, nothing he tried seemed to work. He laid in his bed, couldn't sleep. Tried watching movies couldn't get comfortable. Tried to eat, but wasn't hungry. I just wish I could help make something work for him!!
Saturday, we did celebrate Brad Jr.'s Birthday. We were supposed to have a sleepover a couple of weeks ago at our house but had to cancel for family reasons. We rescheduled the party and set the date before we were aware that Brad had any issues. I didn't want to cancel the party again and disappoint my son, but knew it wasn't a good idea to have the boys over at my house because I wasn't sure how Brad would feel. My parents offered for us to have the sleepover at their house. TEN 9yr old boys! What was I thinking? The boys were very good and Brad Jr. had a great time but it was exhausting!! The party was a good distraction and it was great to see Brad Jr. having fun with all of his friends.
After staying up so late last night I tried to relax today. I watched some movies with Bryanna and Brad Jr. helped me do some cleaning. Bryanna even did a few batches of laundry. My kids are amazing!! Then Brad and I watched Celebrity Apprentice and now it's time for bed!!
Something that made him smile:
A couple of years ago Brad cut his ring finger at work. He had to remove his wedding ring for the doctor to stitch it up and he couldn't get it back on. He tried time and time again to put the ring on (mostly when I complained) but it just wouldn't fit. Tonight before going to bed he said he wanted me to go get his wedding ring. It slid right on with no problems!!! The ring fits again!! He smiled and said "I won't take it off again,"
I've said before, it's the small things that make him smile. :)

Hello, Goodbye!!
Well the first week of Chemo is over. Hallelujah!!!
Brad had a good day. I don't know if it's the excitement that he doesn't have to go to treatment tomorrow or if he's really feeling a little better, but I'll take it regardless of the reason!!!
Yesterday I downloaded the movie, The Fighter for him to watch. I thought it would help pass the time while getting his treatment ~ YAY ~ it worked. He said the movie was very good and it helped occupy his mind for a bit. I'm sure it also helped that his nurse returned today ~ she's taking good care of him!!
His appetite still isn't that great, but he is eating small meals and drinking lots of fluids. He's lost 4 lbs since Monday. I know 4 lbs isn't anything to worry about, but I can already see some slenderizing in his facial features.
This evening I wanted to do something to get him out the house, and lift him out of the funk he's been in but also not bring him around too many people. So after dinner him and I went and took a ride out to the Kenner Boat Launch (the kids didn't want to come, and we didn't want to force them, so they stayed with Nanna & Kappy ~ Thanks guys!). I know we didn't go to far and your probably think that's not to exciting, but it's the small things that make him "smile". It was a beautiful night and Brad really enjoyed getting out.

Before I say goodnight I wanted to share a poem that was sent from a friend.
Sometimes we hit a pot hole, as we travel down life's road.
The way gets rather bumpy, and we bear a heavy load.
Always keep your FAITH, no matter what you do
Because the path with Jesus will be smoother for you!

Not much of a change....
Today was pretty much the same as yesterday. He went for his treatment and MaryAlice (his nurse) wasn't there so it was a little different adjusting to someone new, but for the most part it went smoothly. For lunch they offered him another sandwich and soup, but he didn't eat it (we brought his own food) - Yay! He ate a little better, which I was very pleased with!! He tried sleeping a little bit but I guess he's having a hard time getting comfortable in the chair because he doesn't sleep very long, even though he's exhausted!
After his treatment he met with the Doctor. He answered any questions we've been having and told Brad that with each round of treatment the medicine will get stronger. We're excited day five will be done with tomorrow, but anxious to see what the days ahead bring. Brad's two week off period is when he'll probaly be his weekest. :(
As I'm writing this him and Bryanna are on the couch having a little daddy/daughter time, watching Cinderella Story! It's moments like this that remind me what an incredible family I'm blessed to have.

Our Journey Begins
I want to first thank everyone for all of the love, support and prayers you have given to me and my family. I've decided to follow the suggestions from family and friends to start a blog talking about Brad's progress and treatment. I do read everyone's emails and texts daily. However, sometimes it's hard to answer everyone back because of the amount of them I am receiving.
Brad started his first round of Chemotherapy on Monday, March 21st. He was very nervous the morning of, but after he checked in and started he realized everything was going to be fine. He has a fabulous nurse named MaryAlice, who sets him up in a private therapy suite each morning. (He gets a private suite because he is there the longest during the day) He is receiving his treatment at Tulane Cancer Center and depending on the day will be there anywhere from 4 - 6 hours.
We are already into day three and Brad is exhausted. He is very tired and says that his stomach feels different. Not so much Nausea but a growling pain. I've noticed that his appetite is slowly diminishing. For example: Monday, Tulane gave him a turkey sandwich and some soup for lunch. He ate everything, no problems. Tuesday, another turkey sandwich and soup, but he only ate the sandwich. Today, turkey sandwich and soup (I'm sure he's tired of turkey), but he only ate half the sandwich and sipped on the soup.
He said he was full and couldn't eat anymore. I also noticed at dinner last night he only ate half compared to what he would normally. He is drinking plenty of fluids and I'm trying to give him little snacks throughout the day, a small salad, some grits or some yougrt.
Brad reads every email sent to me, every facebook post on my wall and every text. He is so touched by all of the love everyone is sending his way. I'm going to do my best to update this blog daily. I figured this way we can read all of the emails and questions from everyone, but answer everyone with one response.
